Back to Posts HLS Recap Part 3
Continued from Part 1 & Part 2.
After sessions wrapped up on Saturday, I headed out to explore Harvard Square with my new friends Johanna and Aundra. We caught a ride on the hotel shuttle, with no particular plan in mind except 1) We like dinner, and 2) Fro-yo would probably happen.

Alleyway restaurant we passed by
After walking around for a bit, our first stop was this really interesting restaurant called Maharaja, a sort of upscale Indian joint on the 2nd floor of a shopping center. I say "upscale" because every Indian restaurant in Orlando seems to be a halfway renovated Chinese buffet with questionable food safety, but I digress.

The food did not disappoint! I only recently started liking Indian food, but this meal is what sold me on loving it. I ordered the Baingan Masala (bangin' masala? yes), which was a sauteed eggplant dish with cashews, raisins, chickpeas, and some sort of non-curry sauce I can't remember the name of. With a side of naan and basmati rice. OMG, y'all.

Following dinner, we headed to Harvard to walk off our food babies. I swear to God, we walked onto campus, and I felt like I was stepping directly into a movie. The weather was cool, the night was quiet, and across the way, some students were having a picnic study session. We grabbed a photo with John Harvard:
Someday I'll Photoshop this so we don't look like zombies.
There's something about standing in a place where thousands of great minds have stood that's really moving to me. I think Johanna and Aundra were pretty amused by how much I was geeking out here. What can I say, I love learning.
Next stop: Harvard Used Book Store.
Random ring-around-the-rosiers on the way to the bookstore

We finished off the night at Starbucks instead of Pinkberry (line was redonk), then instead of taking the hotel shuttle back to the hotel, we decided to be adventurous and take the T. This was my first metro ride!

After getting off the T, we had a half hour walk back to our hotel. At this point, I was pretty high on life and taking in the night air walking along the Charles River. I finally got my shot of MIT:

Thanks Johanna and Aundra for such a great night!
